4th Annual Fall Bash
Natchez Garden Club
Bowie’s Tavern
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Natchez, Mississippi
Once again, the Natchez Garden Club will host its annual Fall Bash on Thursday, September 23, a gathering that includes music by Maggie Brown, a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, and silent auction packages. Enjoy the comfort of a very casual atmosphere as local musicians entertain the crowd in the ever popular Barrel Room inside Bowie’s Tavern, an historic, classy watering hole located at the end of Main Street in downtown Natchez, Mississippi, on the bluffs of the Mississippi River. Offering some of the finest silent-auction packages this side of the Mississippi, this event is sure to kick off autumn with everything from SEC Football tickets to area portraits, all available for the right bid…and the right timing—the essence of success. Tasty fare, some by the best bakers of The Natchez Garden Club, completes the lure of this two-hour event, one to enjoy with friends as they assist the PSEH (non-profit umbrella of NGC) in restoring Magnolia Hall. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door, and attire for the event is casual.
To purchase tickets: The Natchez Garden Club Office 601-443-9065 or ntzgardenclub@bellsouth.net
Throughout the year
St. Joseph Arts
St. Joseph, Louisiana
St. Joseph Arts, of St. Joseph, Louisiana, features a highly talented orchestra as well as multiple ensembles. In 2009, St. Joseph Arts was presented with the “Outstanding Small Arts Organization of Louisiana” award by Mitch Landrieu. Recently, with help from Andy Anders, the organization received a $3,000 grant awarded by AT&T because of the musicians’ importance as an arts-oriented, non-profit group. Members of St. Joseph Arts can be found all along Louisiana and Mississippi.
Upcoming events for St. Joseph Arts include Sept. 11—Jessica & Michael Bunchman in the cabaret event “Broadway Grab Bag – choose your own songs!”; Oct. 30—Tensas Fall Music Festival; Nov. 12—“Yu Wei: Vision of China in Dance”; Dec. 10—Christmas Concert, St. Joseph, Louisiana; Dec 12—Christmas Concert with the Alcorn University Choir, Vicksburg, Mississippi; Dec. 16—Christmas Concert with the Alcorn University Choir, Vidalia, Louisiana; Jan. 28—Bill Oberst playing “Sherman’s March”; and April 28—“Hotel California.” The organization also will hold various membership drives, for its total funding comes from memberships alone.
